Founder's Vision Note
2024 was a transformative year for Polytrade Finance, marking our evolution from a single-asset tokenizer into the industry's leading RWA marketplace. In our first year, we prioritized building a strong foundation by focusing on supply, the backbone of any market. Driven by a laser-sharp focus on supply-side, I am proud of our accomplishments in this regard.
I would like to take a moment to acknowledge some of our key milestones in 2024:
Product Launches: Undoubtedly, the biggest event for the year was our marketplace v1 launch. But the pace of iteration afterward has also been phenomenal—we have launched multiple chains, new payment methods, new asset classes, and a completely new 'utility token' category. This was the groundwork, and now we can truly make RWAs scale with upcoming RWA 360 roadmap as well as other launches coming in Q1 and Q2.
Supply Goals Achieved: We successfully surpassed our ambitious supply targets, solidifying our presence as a leader in the RWA space. Today, Polytrade covers more than 90% of public RWA assets, making Polytrade the default app for any user to explore the world of RWAs.
Cross Category: We successfully aggregated assets across categories - now 9 in total - from Real Estate to Credit, Commodities, Collectibles, Art and even tokenized Trade. Several high-quality assets were onboarded to the platform alongside partnerships, demonstrating our ability to curate and manage valuable financial instruments. This included our takeover of assets such as Rihana, BTS, Guetta music royalties from Anotherblock to further strengthen our breadth of offerings.
Chains Onboarded: We expanded our ecosystem by integrating with multiple blockchain networks including Arbitrum, Base, Plume, Ozean, and more enhancing interoperability and scaling our infrastructure.
We see 2025 might as the year of RWA-focused chains, and we are well equipped to launch on any chain in less than a day.
Partnerships: Last, but not least, we strengthened collaborations with institutions, including Mastercard, Chainlink, banks, large trade houses, and broadened our network with strategic alliances to solidify Polytrade's reputation as a reliable and innovative partner in the RWA ecosystem. We now have more than 70 partners, all visible on the ecosystem page. Moreover, we demonstrated key leadership by organizing 4 amazing RWA Unwinds as well as more than 10 mega spaces to discuss RWAs.
These accomplishments are not just milestones—they are stepping stones towards our broader mission of reshaping real-world assets with a unified marketplace, i.e. the Amazon of RWAs.
As we step into 2025, I am incredibly proud of the unique position Polytrade has carved out in the RWA space. Every industry needs a marketplace, and Polytrade has firmly established itself as the go-to marketplace for tokenized real-world assets. Here are 4 things that are top of mind for us as we head into 2025:
Our journey forward is guided by 4 critical areas that require transformation within the RWA ecosystem:
1. Artificial Intelligence
Artificial Intelligence is no longer a nice-to-have; it is a critical component of the future. As the largest aggregator of RWAs, Polytrade is uniquely positioned to leverage AI in transformative ways. We have spent time thinking deeply about the question - what can AI do in RWAs. This included not just ideating with experts and partners but also trying solutions ourselves and beginning to add AI talent and expertise to the team.
This is where we think AI x RWA can flourish:
Distribution & Recommendation: AI agents will be the ones acting as recommendation engines on RWA assets and tokens, not just inside apps like our Marketplace but wherever the user is - social media, messaging, web. Agents will be able to understand user needs, pair them with available assets and layer the understanding with macro, geographic, and asset specific trends.
Transparency & Risk: AI Agents will create and maintain up to date information on assets as well as monitor risks on a real time basis.
Marketing: RWAs still require immense user education, and AI agents are the perfect delivery method to educate, guide, and bring in more users than ever before. AI can be everywhere, at all times, and completely personalized.
Managers: AI Agents powered by DeFAI will emerge as portfolio or asset managers with different strategies. We can predict that such agents will be able to surpass human managers in terms of the amount of data they can process and as well as the speed and uptime of execution.
All in all, we believe agents, more specifically a swarm of agents that support each other, will play a pivotal role in RWAs. In fact, the vision of global market access, given its complexities, is impossible without AI.
2. Transparency
True transparency is essential for fostering trust and driving adoption. We believe this is a major bottleneck towards RWA adoption, and Polytrade is committed to setting the gold standard by ensuring that data, processes, and outcomes are accessible to all stakeholders.
At the moment, neither retail, nor family offices, nor institutions have access to basic disclosures we see in TradFi. For example, there are more than 8 tokenized US Treasury providers—all structuring products differently: some as corporate debt, others as units of a fund and others even without formal structuring. Distinguishing this for the user is hard, but this is essential for users to truly consider the right product. Even in simpler things like collectibles, there is a need to add significant transparency - where can the product be shipped if redeemed, who was the auditor, what are the storage costs every year?
This will be a key focus area for us in 2025. Without clarity and transparency, RWAs will not live up to their potential.
3. Engaged Education and B2B Expansion
RWAs can be difficult to understand and need a more engaged onboarding process. We started down this path with RWA 360, bringing in features such as Utility Token offerings, RAGMI rewards store, loyalty portal among others. We aim to further add features that can make RWAs simple and fun. There are some exciting product launches planned in this regard in the near term.
As with the success of tokenized trade in 2024, we will look at more B2B as well as B2B2C partnerships. With supply already onboarded we are at the right junction to focus on scaling with leverage through channel expansion, agent-based distribution, and partner distribution. We also aim to focus on building out in new geographies, including the US as tokenization continues to go mainstream with more regulatory support in 2025.
Additionally, on the supply side, we are in multiple conversations with established web2 players and new projects to get them on-chain via Polytrade. As mainstream adoption increases, we are well positioned to bring in new innovative supply on-chain.
4. Identity, Abstraction, & Cross-chain for User Experience
A robust identity framework is the cornerstone of any secure and scalable financial ecosystem. At the moment the fragmented identity systems for each asset, disjointed chain ecosystems, and wallet/gas requirements make the user journey an uphill battle in RWAs. Polytrade, as the leading aggregator, will prioritize solutions that streamline processes to make user journeys seamless across all 3 of these elements.
Our vision for 2025 is clear: to accelerate while strengthening the infrastructure needed to ensure trust and scale.
To ensure focused execution and nimble progress, we are implementing a quarterly roadmap for 2025. We believe this is necessary to keep evolving in the rapidly changing landscape and ensure Polytrade maintains and furthers its leadership position. The first quarterly roadmap will be shared soon and will address key priorities.
2025 is set to be a transformative year for Polytrade Finance. By staying true to our mission and embracing innovation, we are poised to lead the charge in revolutionizing the real-world asset industry.
